First time I’ve ever seen pewter, in a pewter museum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Very shiny and smooth surface much like silver but without the pain of having to polish it all the time because it doesn’t blacken and tarnish like silver does. Pretty heavy too which makes the plates, cups, and chalices I saw and touch feel pretty great in my hand. I’d like to try eating out of pewter.

It’s made out of tin, with some copper, antimony, bismuth and sometimes lead. In fact I believe it was invited as a great substitute for lead because of lead poisoning (and after they found out lead leads to lead poisoning, they  minimized the lead component).
